Bargain Book Haul #1

So I recently purchased nine books from Bookoutlet.com and thought that I would share with you all. Let me just warn you that I went a bit crazy....

What? I warned you!! I have a book buying problem. You can't make me stop!!

The first three books I purchased were:

A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies; $2.99, paperback

The Fox Inheritance by Mary E. Pearson; $3.49, paperback

The Magnolia League by Katie Crouch; $2.99, paperback

The next three books were:

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti; $4.99, hardback

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks; $3.49, hardback

The Perks of Being a Wallflower; $4.99, paperback

*I already own this book but my copy was coming apart so I bought a new one.

And the last three books:

Spellcaster by Claudia Gray; $6.99, hardback

Crewel by Gennifer Albin; $4.99, hardback

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan; $2.99, hardback

My grand total for this amazing haul, including shipping, was $40.40! I had a coupon code for $5 off of $35 I believe. Seeing as this was my first purchase from bookoutlet.com I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of shipping and the book selection. I actually made a second order the day these beauties came in. What? They sent me another coupon code! And who can turn down books this cheap?!?

I will definitely post my second haul when it arrives, so keep an eye open for that!

Reblogged from Starry Reads:

From epicreads.com

City of Ashes - Cassandra Clare Really enjoyed this book. Valentine is still at it being all hitler like. And poor Simon. If you enjoyed the first one then I recommend reading this!
Everneath - Brodi Ashton I am really torn between a 3 and 4 star rating. There were things I loved and things that I didn't. I went into this book expecting more mythology and wound up with comparisons of mythological stories. Also some of the "love bird" bits were a bit strange. The last 20% was the best part of the whole book. If you are a fan of Greek and Egyptian mythology you would probably enjoy this story
Pivot Point - Kasie West Actual rating of 3.7 stars out of five! It took me a bit to get into it but that ending totally sold it. I am definitely looking forward to the next one and I hope it is even better! The story was really unique and I loved the switching between choices in each chapter. Definitely a to read if it sounds like anything you would enjoy
Frost - Marianna Baer Let me just start by saying I read this book in two days! When I started the book I was really into it! I mean come on, haunted house!!! But ten it slowly lost its flair. That ending was terrible. What a cop out. I really thought it could have been so much better if the ending had been different. If you are looking for a creepy book with a semi "happy" ending then this is probably the book for you. If you like more of a thriller with a legitimate scary ending I would look elsewhere.
Old Magic - Marianne Curley That was the perfect start to my summer reading! Nice fast paced read and very enjoyable! Kate is not your average girl, she has powers and she knows it. Jarrod has powers and he doesn't accept them. He is clumsy and self conscious while Kate is determined and knows who she is! I really enjoyed the magic and the time travel! Definitely a to read if the synopsis sounds like something you would enjoy!

The Goddess Inheritance

The Goddess Inheritance - Aimee Carter What can I say? I have been waiting for this book for what seems like an eternity. The book gave a lovely conclusion and I am definitely going to miss this series. (Luckily I can retread it as much as I want) My only complaint is that it was too short. Why did it have to end? Why???
Entwined - Heather Dixon I really enjoyed this retelling of the 12 dancing princesses. The name choices were super cute and the descriptions were fantastic! Not to mention that cover and the pages themselves are beautiful! The characters seemed really well developed and I never turn down any book evolving magic and hidden gardens/rooms. Definitely an enjoyable read
The Knowers - Merry Brown Actual rating of 3.5 The idea behind this book was very new and exciting. I love reading super original books and I have yet to read anything like this novel. However, I thought the characters were really underdeveloped and that it was very slow moving. I was all the way into chapter 18 before anything really happened. I am used to reading a book and gaining the sense that I instantly understand the main character and it feels like I have known them forever, but in this novel I didn't get that feeling from any of the characters. I would be reading and a name would pop up and all I could think was, "Who are you?" I give Dr. Brown a big round of applause for doing all the publishing and writing by herself. Publishing a book is not an easy job! This is a very good novel for being the first one she has ever written. I think she has some brilliant ideas if only she could tie up a few loose ends.
The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood This book is really good. The only thing that I didn't like was the authors use of quotation marks. There were none!! Well there were a few but they were not used regularly.
Immortal - Gillian Shields Let me just start by saying, yes this is a generic girl goes to private school and winds up ensnared by magic in some way, but I loved it anyways. It is not some fantastic work of fiction but I didn't read it with the idea of finding that! I read it because I enjoy this type of book. If you are looking for a fun easy read then you might enjoy this! If you are looking for a deep, new story with amazingly imaginative characters then I suggest you go elsewhere
Pandemonium - Lauren Oliver Ok! I am trying to remain calm... Breath slowly... In and out.... In and out... Oh who am I kidding! I mean really that end. I saw it coming early in the book and then talked my self out of it and then once I had it in my mind that it wasn't going to happen... BAM! Gah, I love and hate books that due that. But seriously, this book was even better than the first. Highly recommend it if you enjoyed Delirium.
Feed - M.T. Anderson Call me crazy but I really liked this book. Yes there is the weird future teen talk that even the parents in the book talk with but I got used to reading it. In a way this book is really sort of scary. Some things seem so similar to the present times. I will not have a feed implanted if that ever becomes a possibility and that is for sure.
Uprising - Jessica Therrien Yea!!! It's finally out! Can't wait to start this. Also for a limited time the ebook is only $.99. So get buying it
